Sony has in fact released the new official trailer of the fifth chapter of Insidious, the awaited next feature film of the horror franchise that began in 2011 with the success created by the duo Saw James Wan and Leigh Whannell, with the former directing the first two installments of the film series, and the latter who wrote all four films and directed the third. In Insidious: The Red Door, the original cast of the horror franchise reunites in the latest chapter in the terrifying saga of the Lambert family. To silence their demons once and for all, college-aged Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go “Elsewhere” deeper than they ever have before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more frightening terrors that lurk behind the red door.

The film is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell. The screenplay is written by Scott Teems from a story by Leigh Whannell, based on characters created by Leigh Whannell. Insidious: La Porta Rossa arrives in Italian cinemas on July 5, produced by Sony Pictures and distributed by Eagle Pictures.

While reviews have been mixed for all four films, the Insidious franchise has become a favorite among horror fans. The original film grossed over $97 million on a $1.5 million budget and helped further elevate Blumhouse Productions as a production company. Subsequent sequels proved to be huge box office hits, grossing a total of $442 million, against a combined production budget of $25 million. After a few years of relative silence, it was confirmed in 2019 that a fifth film, starring Patrick Wilson and Ty Simpkins, was in development.
