Two new cast members of The Nun 2. Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Rose Downey will join Taissa Farmiga and Storm Reid in the second installment of the acclaimed horror film, produced by James Wan and blockbuster. At the moment no details are known about the plot and, consequently, about the protagonists of the film, but it is known that Farmiga will reprise the role of Sister Irene that she had in the first film. Anna Popplewell will play Kate, a French school teacher, widowed and mother of ten-year-old Sophie, probably played by Katelyn Rose Downey.
The Nun 2, everything we know about the film
The Nun 2 will be directed by Michael Chaves, who has already made a name for himself within The Conjuring franchise by directing its seventh chapter (The Conjuring – By order of the devil, third in The Conjuring saga). Akela Cooper, along with Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing, took care of the screenplay. Of course, James Wan’s producer, Atomic Monster, will also return to the production of this film. The release date set by Warner Bros. is September 8, 2023.
Recall that the first chapter of The Nun (The Nun – The vocation of evil) was set in Romania. After a young cloistered nun takes her own life, a priest and a novice on the verge of taking vows are sent there to investigate. The investigation leads them to discover a secret that will put not only their lives at risk but also their faith and their souls. They will have to face an evil force called Valak who takes on the same demonic form as the nun who appeared in The Conjuring 2 and is now ready to return in The Nun 2 as well.
