The famous director of Avatar and Titanic did not go to the light.

James Cameron is about to start the promotional campaign for Avatar – The Way of the Water (out on December 14 this year) and has decided to do it in the best possible way, earning the front page of newspapers that deal with cinema. How? Lashing out against DC and Marvel, he is ree of presenting – according to the director – immature characters, unlike the protagonists of Avatar, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana).

James Cameron’s words against DC and Marvel

“Zoe and Sam are playing parents now, 15 years later,” the director said. “In the first film, Sam’s character fundamentally changes the story following a crazy and almost suicidal leap of faith. Zoe’s character throws herself off a branch simply convinced that there is a carpet of leaves beneath her to soften her fall. But when you are a parent, you don’t think that way. So for me, now that I am a parent of five children, I ask myself: ‘What happens when those characters mature and realize that they have a responsibility that goes beyond their very survival?’ “

James Cameron continued: “When I watch these huge, spectacular movies – I’m telling you, Marvel and DC – it doesn’t matter how old the characters are: they all act like they’re in college. They have relationships, but it’s like they don’t. They never slow down by thinking about their children. The things that give us power, love, and fulfill us? Those characters don’t experience it, and I don’t think this is the right way to make films “. In short, Cameron has accused the Marvel and DC films of immaturity. He is not the first great director to lash out at box-office rulers (and Martin Scorsese remembers this very well). He who knows if the upper floors of Marvel and DC will respond.
