House of the Dragon review, a question of expectations …
Expectations influence everything, especially when it comes to entertainment products as popular as Game of Thrones has become. Even the authors Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, are aware of the incredibly complicated mission, only because they arrived after 8 seasons of a pop phenomenon. House of the Dragon is not Game of Thrones and it cannot be in any scenario, this is probably the biggest obstacle that each of us will have to overcome.
What we remember from the original series are the deaths, the dragons, the wars, and all the junctions that made the series evolve and the last season, as much as it may have been discussed, was full of them. These events gave the series a completely different pace than it started when it was more political and House of the Dragon starts right there from the very beginning.
The premise of the series is quite simple, and it connects perfectly to the choice of the showrunners to go back slightly and build this “new” universe of characters in a fairly timely manner. A construction that has also given rise to the need to look for two actors to play the same role, such as those of Rhaenyra and Alicent. This allowed the series to tell the foundations of these characters, so as not to find ourselves confused by political and court dynamics that have already begun. This also justifies the unusual and numerous time jumps that we will see in the first part.
The local approach of the House of The Dragon
If you already start with the awareness that House of the Dragon is not Game of Thrones, the only other obstacle to overcome is its much narrower vision than the original series. House of The Dragon instead exists in a subset of this universe and tells some events that involved the House of Targaryen, 200 years before the story we know. So House of The Dragon mentions names people and places, just for the fun of it and to remind us that the Targaryens always live in Westeros; which has so many Dragons; which are many more than we were used to and which are powerful. The rest of the story takes place within the family, and with its absurd dynamics.
House of The Dragon also lacks a physical enemy, but there is perhaps the most complicated of all to defeat and understand: power. The Targaryens are constantly victims of power and the Targaryens themselves. The need to fulfill the obligations for the survival of the family is the only fuel of the series. Everything else does not represent a real threat, also because the future is already written.
When we get to know these new characters we find them in a fairly quiet period for the House of Targaryen, the only problem with King Viserys Targaryen concerns his succession to the throne. So the problem here is not which house will sit on the Iron Throne, but which of the Targaryens will, family is a permanent fixture in House of The Dragon and would make any attempt to create enemies superfluously.
The Targaryens then find themselves dealing with some crisis caused by a family member. Nothing to worry about, the ambition of other houses is always there, but it is often politically resolved with marriages to strengthen both. They are simple political dynamics … nothing more.
The consequences of this approach
King Viserys in his first marriage failed to produce a male heir and Rhaenyra is the only child who can succeed him, but she is a woman. This obviously opens up a huge issue that, however modern it may be, has very ancient foundations.
House of the Dragon manages to deal with it thanks to this local approach that allows it to elaborate, not to relegate the issue to a catchphrase, because you have to move to Winterfell to understand what is happening there. The theme of the role of the woman is the cause of the decline of the Targaryens, it always has been, after all, and here they found the time to dissect it and understand what impact it had on their history.

The Game of Thrones universe is moving towards the creation of appendages and sub-stories, probably replicating what Marvel and Star Wars have already done on Disney +. They are glimpses of history that come to life, which do not care about what is happening around them because it is not necessary, probably someone else will.
The “local” approach of House of The Dragon is the only obstacle that the viewer has to overcome. Needs to! Because it is almost certain that every project in this universe uses the same strategy. After all, the most choral story, the biggest and most spectacular one has already been told, now it’s time to tell the details … not to photocopy.

How about the movie Highway?
A few scenes in Highway Movie are interesting to watch separately but the entire making of the movie will definitely make you shake your head. The movie looks very clueless with the story and screenplay. Most of the scenes in the movie look very uninteresting and boring. The director followed the old formula of a typical thriller story. Even the climax of the film looks very unrealistic and routine.
Anand Deverakonda needs to improve a lot in terms of acting. He could not give proper expressions in most of the scenes where he needed to elevate the situation. Sayami Kher in the role of the investigation officer is fine. Abhishek Banerjee impresses with his performance in this film and rocks in a negative role, although we have seen him in similar roles in Hindi before. Satya tries to create the necessary entertainment in between and all the other actors do their part well.
Technically, the movie seems okay. Background music composed by Simon K King adds the necessary mood to the film. K.V Guhan’s cinematography looks okay, but some good locations in the movie can be shot beautifully but it seems that it is not shown properly. K.V Guhan once again comes up with a thriller story and like his previous film, ‘WWW’ fails to impress the audience with his making.
Finally, Highway is impressive for some scenes and creates suspense till the end.

Commitment Movie Review: How is the movie so far? :
This Me Too movement is a movement undertaken by all the women who face sexual harassment.. The entire film is about the Me Too movement. Most of the scenes are highly relatable to the mass audience. But, the lack of a strong storyline in the movie should also be said as a minus point. Feels like the real point is missed. Although the story point was interesting.. it failed to engage the audience on the silver screen. In the case of the movie, it would have been better if the taking was stronger.
Among those five girls, Tejaswi Madiwada was impressed with her performance. Ramya didn’t mind being yellow. The other actors did well in their roles. But in this movie, Skin show adult scenes that seem to be more focused. The feeling that it is too much can be felt in the audience. However, other actors in the movie, Amit Tiwari and Raja Ravindra impressed with their performances. Technically, the movie is not very impressive.
The background score by music director Naresh Kumaran is impeccable. But, the songs are not that impressive. The cinematography by Naresh Rana and Sajeesh Rajendran is not great. The production values of the movie are poor. It can be said that director Laxmikant Chenna has not been able to deliver this movie to the extent expected in engaging the audience. All in all, this commitment movie has a mass audience and those who are interested in adult scenes can go to the theater and enjoy the movie.

The hero says that he sees her as a friend but does not love her even though the heroine is chasing him… Then he sees another girl on the beach and falls in love… Beating the villains for her… MS Rajasekhar Reddy, who wrote the story without going far from the routine commercial formula, has made the film very routine. If you watch the fights, songs, and scenes… they are like those seen somewhere in the already hit commercial movies. Anjali’s special song ‘Raa Raa Reddy’ is a bit of a no-brainer. The cinematography is good.
How did the actors do? : Nitin Mas made films. He has a huge mass hit like ‘Sy’ in his career. Fights were done in Love and Family Entertainers. However… in ‘Macharla Constituency’ they have done what is required for a purely commercial film. Dances and fights were done. Punch dialogues. But nothing new was done. Kriti Shetty, Catherine… Both the heroines are characters like curry leaves in a curry.

Samudrakhani did a dual role. Even a talented artist like him did nothing but shout loudly and deliver heavy dialogues. The director did that with him. Murali Sharma, Rajendra Prasad, Indraja, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Brahmaji… many actors will appear in the film. All are routine scenes. So no one got a chance to show their uniqueness.
What is the final say? : ‘Macharla Constituency’ is a routine mass commercial movie. Nothing new at all. Even the audience who loves commercial movies needs a little patience to watch this movie. No matter how much Nitin tried… even he could not sustain this film.
