Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3, Dave Bautista: ''With this film, we come full circle''

Dave Bautista, the interpreter of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, argues that “all things must come to an end”

Already James Gunn, the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, a few days ago had evoked in the course of an interview a sense of definitive ending around the third chapter of the saga, claiming (or threatening) that fans would see for the last time that team of Guardians.

Now it’s the turn of Dave Bautista, the strong interpreter of Drax the Destroyer, who expressed himself in a very similar way during a chat for the ComicBook podcast “Phase Zero“. Here are his words.

“It’s our third film, we’ll stop it. It was a nice trip with some bumps. I can not wait. The cast and of course the director, James Gunn, are like family to me. With these films, my acting career practically began. A circle is about to come full circle and I can’t wait to do it. It’s a bittersweet feeling. I mean, I’ve been working on the Guardians since 2013. And when [the third chapter] comes out it’s going to be 2023, so it’s a 10-year journey. You know, all things have to come to an end. And I can’t wait to do it alongside my friends and family “.

A few months ago Dave Bautista had stated that with the third chapter of the Guardians of the Galaxy he would have abandoned the role of Drax (also thanks to a no longer very young age), but that the character could have been played by another actor. A possibility that director James Gunn himself had firmly opposed, arguing that no one could replace Bautista.

Of course, before the film arrives in theaters (the release is scheduled for May 2023), fans will be able to see Drax the Destroyer both in Thor: Love and Thunder – which will be released this year, on July 8 – and in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, due out on Disney + later this year.

Benedict Cumberbatch defends Doctor Strange from Spider-Man: No Way Home

The Master of the Mystic Arts seemed to be acting very out of character, which inevitably led to him being identified as the Phase Four 438 candidate only to ultimately be revealed as Mephisto in disguise. Of course, that line of inquiry was drawn a blank once again, but there’s no denying that Strange wasn’t the same as always.

Doing a favor for a teenager who ended up tearing apart the very fabric of reality and allowing the multiverse to open up a bit more was not in keeping with the Sorcerer Supreme’s duties as the man charged with keeping such things in check, but Cumberbatch asserted in an interview with Variety that he did it all in the name of love.

“Having those three films culminating at that moment was an extraordinary thing to be a part of. And letting my character make some serious mistakes out of love, actually, out of generosity towards someone who he realizes really cares.”

Cumberbatch was one of the most sought-after names in the Spider-Man: No Way Home cast, but his actual contributions to the plot made him more of a cipher than a genuine supporting character, especially when he disappeared for a large part. weather. runtime, only to conveniently appear at the last moment during the third act’s climactic action sequence.

Despite not receiving the same attention that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has received, Thor: Love and Thunder aim to become one of the best films of 2022, as it will present us with a fun story and a new bearer of Mjolnir: Jane. Foster, who, just like in the comics, will become Mighty Thor.

On the other hand, it is said that this live-action film adaptation of the God of Thunder comics will serve to introduce the deities of other mythologies that exist in the Marvel Universe, being the first representative Zeus, the main God of Greek mythology, and who, according to a new leak, will be played by Gladiator actor Russell Crowe.

Through Twitter, the insider @MyTimeToShineH, recognized for having leaked important details of several Marvel Studios projects and getting almost all of his predictions right, revealed that the veteran actor will join the MCU to bring Zeus to life and that, as if that were not enough, we would see the debut of other deities, although he did not mention which ones or which actors would be in charge of interpreting them, so we will be aware of all his publications to know more confidential information about Thor: Love and Thunder.

This news excites us too much, because it may cause the debut of Hercules, another character from Greek mythology who is quite important in comics and who has shared the limelight with the God of Thunder from Norse mythology, with whom he has even had incredible battles, but of course, this has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios, so it is still a rumor and we advise you to take it as such

Insider @MyTimeToShineH assured that Marvel Studios planned for Chris Evans to return to the MCU to bring Hydra Cap to life.

After Avengers: Endgame, the MCU changed forever, as the protagonists of the first three phases chose to say goodbye to the roles that gave them world fame, this being the case of Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man / Tony Stark actor, Scarlett Johansson, actress of Black Widow / Natasha Romanoff, and Chris Evans, interpreter of Captain America, who, although he did not die like the other members of the Mightiest Heroes on the Planet, retired from the world of superheroes, grew old and left the mantle from the North American Super Soldier to Sam Wilson, who until then was known as Falcón.

However, this actor is more likely to return and play Steve Rogers again, something that, according to a well-known insider, was about to happen, since z had plans to bring him back as Hydra Cap, the controversial evil version. of this character, we recently met in the Secret Empire arc of the comics.

Through Twitter, the information leaker @MyTimeToShineH revealed that Marvel Studios planned to bring back Chris Evans as this Hydra-allied variant of Captain America, something that we are sure would have grabbed the attention of superhero movie fans and readers. of comics. However, he did not reveal in which film adaptation or live-action series this villain would make his debut or if the idea was already discarded by the film studio.

Perhaps the right time to introduce Hydra Cap is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a film in which we will see different versions of the House of Ideas characters that we all know, but of course, this is just my guess, so that we will have to wait for details of this supposed return to be revealed.
