Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther, wants to remember the missing actor once again and recounts their last phone call.

Now very little is missing from the debut of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the cinema, on November 9, in fact, the film will be released in Italian cinemas. Days ago, director Ryan Coogler wanted to remember once again Chadwick Boseman, the lead actor of Black Panther (2018) who died on August 28, 2020, due to a tumor. Coogler recounted, during an interview, the last and unforgettable conversation he had with Boseman.

The Black Panther star and the last conversation with the director: “It was clear that something was wrong”

The Black Panther director, who had long ago confessed to thinking of leaving directing following the death of Chadwick Boseman, recalls: “My last conversation with him was a phone call to ask if he wanted to read the Wakanda Forever script before he did. the Studios sent me corrections. It was the last time we spoke and yes, I think he died about two weeks later “.

Coogler continues: “You could tell he was lying down while we were talking, and Simone was with him. He made her leave because he didn’t want him to hear anything that would get him in trouble for her NDA, but she didn’t want to leave him. He understood that something was wrong, in short. But they laughed and joked. They talked about organizing their wedding in South Carolina and how many people they would invite. She asked me about my son, and why he missed the baby shower “.

The Black Panther director speaks of the actor as an immense and impossible-to-forget person, admitting that in the film’s sequel the sense of loss is always strong and present. The harrowing memory of the director adds to that of the fans who meanwhile continue to wonder what the sequel to the first film would have been like if Boseman had been in the same role again.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Movierulz | Kevin Feige explains why Namor only arrived now – 4 Movierulz

As has been known for months, the main villain of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 blockbuster film, will be the mighty Namor. The character, played by actor Tenoch Huerta has been described as a mutant, lord of the deep ocean, where he built his own extraordinary empire.

There was a lot of anticipation for the debut of this character, who finally got his own space within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many, however, could not help but wonder why he was only introduced now, at the end of Phase 4.

During the premiere of the film, producer and head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige provided an answer to that question. Feige has in fact declared that the character had been crushed in a war on rights between the Studios and that when a film entirely dedicated to him was hypothesized at the end of the nineties, this was not realized precisely because of the contrasts between Marvel Studios and Universal, which at the time held part of the rights to Namor.

Recalling the episode, Feige said that “we even commissioned a screenplay at the time, but the timing was never quite as good as the proposal in general.” If now Namor has finally arrived on the big screen, much of the credit seems to be attributed to director Ryan Coogler, who would have strongly wanted him as the villain of this sequel.

“Ryan Coogler in the first film begins to outline what will be a war between the realms. – Explained Feige – This added a greater cultural specificity to the character by tying him to the kingdom of Talocan and I can’t wait for people to meet this version of him. ” For the director, therefore, it was the perfect villain for this sequel, and to be able to admire Namor in all his splendor, it will be necessary to wait for the film to arrive in theaters, set for November 9th.
