Captain Miller is a film directed by Arun Madeswaran, who is known as a valiant director there, starring Dhanush, who continues to be a star hero in Tamil. Ever since the announcement of this movie, the interest of the audience has been slowly increasing. Our hero Sandeep Kishan from Telugu and the star hero Shiva Rajkumar from Kannada also played key roles in this movie.

Released in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Sankranthi, this movie not only became a big hit there but also fetched good collections. After two weeks, this movie was dubbed in Telugu and released. After the release of the trailer in Telugu, the Telugu audience also got interested in this movie. Now let’s see how this movie is in the review

Captain Miller Movie Story:

During the 1930s, this film was brought to the audience as a periodical story. Agniswar (Dhanush) lives with his mother in Tanda under the Raju Sansthanam, a locality under British rule. He thinks that if he joins the army of the white people, he will get that respect because his race is not properly respected in the village. He goes against the words of his elder brother Shivayya (Shivaraj Kumar) who is fighting for the freedom of the country and joins the army.

On the first day of joining the army, he kills the superior officer and goes into hiding to kill his own villagers. Why does he become a thief after helping a band of thieves? How did the original fireman become Captain Miller? Why did the king of their kingdom steal the statue that has been guarded for generations? Why did Miller have to kill the governor’s son? How did his fellow soldier Rafi (Sandeep Kishan) help him in this process? If you want to know such things, you have to watch the movie.

Captain Miller Movie Analysis:

For those who follow Tamil films, it is clear that Arun Madeswaran has a separate image. His specialty is to show hard-hitting stories with a range of violence and tell them like breaking a pot. This Captain Miller also filmed in such a category. From the beginning of the film, it took a long time to get into the actual story. The first half was all about establishing Dhanush’s character.

But the real story does not start until the interval. In a sense, he seemed to take too long to introduce the characters. In the first off, he introduced all the characters and gave clarity on how their characters are going to be. After Dhanush escapes from the army, he joins hands with a gang of robbers and then commits many robberies with them, but the story, which was slow until then, picks up speed from there.

The interest in the movie increases with the scene where Dhanush chases the convoy of white nobles to steal. The movie seems to move very fast after completing that heist. Especially the shooting scenes between Captain Miller’s team and the White House Army are very interesting. But compared to Arun’s previous films, the violence seems to be less.

But in recent times, an argument has come to the fore that the stories of those who have been oppressed are mostly being told in Tamil. But after watching this movie, it seems that they have tried to discover how much grief those who were killed must have experienced. Not only that but usually an idea comes from time to time.

Our Indian Sepoys also worked in the British Army, and many may have an idea why they worked for the British who are envious of the Indians. But if you watch this movie and see the dialogues spoken by Dhanush’s character, Arun Madeswaran has written the screenplay along with the story so that it seems that there is nothing wrong with doing that.

Especially the action sequence has been written thrillingly. The movie is not amazing but it is interesting. But the chances of it connecting with the Telugu audience are very low. Because there is no record of any of the films that have been suppressed like this becoming hits in Telugu in the past.

In addition to that, they were very careful about adding Telugu subtitles. A better technical team should have been appointed while releasing in Telugu. As the subtitles are also badly misplaced, it is doubtful whether the Telugu release was taken so lightly.

Captain Miller Movie Performance:

Dhanush has done similar roles in the past. Here he changed his look and tried to impress with things like beard and mustache. Priyanka Arul Mohan tried to do justice to the role of Bhanumati but somehow I felt that someone else would have been better in her place. Sandeep Kishan’s role in the role of Rafi is short but he seems to be able to connect with the Telugu audience.

As always, Siva Rajkumar, who appeared in the role of Shivayya, acted in a role that made audiences of all languages feel like he was there for a while. Nivedita Sathish is a bit new to Telugu but she got an action-packed role. Actors like Jayaprakash and John Kokken tried to impress by acting to the extent of their roles. In the end, it seemed to give a lead to the second part but it remains to be seen how much it will be used.

When it comes to the technical team, Jeevi Prakash Kumar’s songs are not very memorable but his background score is a box-office hit. It seemed that a lot of care was taken in the cinematography. Since the film is all periodical, they tried to use the color tones of that time. Build values are good.

Finally, Captain Miller is an out-and-out action entertainer. Those who like action movies will like it. It is impossible to say how much it will connect with Telugu people.
