Leo Movie Box Office: 140 Crores worldwide on the first day and broke the records of 'Adipurush', 'Jawan', and 'Jailer'

Leo Movie Day 1 Box Office Collections: Kollywood star hero Thalapathy Vijay’s movie ‘Leo’ is doing well at the box office. It is remarkable that this movie is getting the highest openings in Vijay’s career. ‘Leo’ has broken all the records of the highest number of openings at the box office so far. 

If we go into the full details…Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay, was released on Thursday, October 19, amid huge expectations. Although the movie got mixed talk, it made unexpected collections at the box office. Leo became the film that received the highest worldwide openings in the Indian film industry.

Leo grossed Rs 140 crore worldwide at the box office on its first day. Before this, recently Prabhas starrer ‘Adipurush’ has also collected around Rs.140 crore openings. But after the first week, Adipurush’s collections fell badly. Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Jawaan’ collected Rs 129.1 crore at the first-day box office. 

Released at the pan-India level, ‘Jawaan’ became the highest-grossing film in all languages across India this year. This movie grossed Rs.1440.5 crores in the full run. But in the Day One collections, ‘Leo’ beat Adipurush and ‘Jawaan’ collections.

‘Leo’, which was released amid many controversies in Telugu and Hindi languages, collected Rs.63 crores in the domestic market. India-wide earned Rs.74 crores. If you look at the first-day collections of ‘Leo’ in Tamil Nadu, it is remarkable that even after the government canceled the morning shows, it collected Rs. 30 crore gross on the first day alone. 

‘Leo’ has also broken the collections of Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailor’ which is the highest grosser in the Tamil industry this year and created a new record. AP and Telangana collected Rs. 15 crores, Karnataka Rs. 14 crores, Kerala Rs. 11 crores, and recorded record collections in all languages. 4 crores gross in the rest of India.

Including all languages, Rs. 63 crores net and Rs. 74 crores gross have been received. A total of Rs.66 crores was looted overseas. At the total worldwide box office, Leo collected Rs.140 crores on the first day and achieved the rare distinction of being the highest opening Indian movie. 

In this movie made as a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe, Trisha acted as the heroine opposite Vijay. Bollywood senior stars Sanjay Dutt, Action King Arjun, Gautham Menon, and Mansoor Ali Khan played key roles. Composed by Anirudh Ravichandran, the film is produced by SS Lalith Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studios.
