But with a gap of about six months after the first part, the audience got an idea about the story. Director Mani Ratnam went into the story from the first scene of the second part.
Aditya Karikaludu and Nandini’s childhood love story looks beautiful on screen. The first half is very racy between Ponniin Selvan’s family’s grief that he is dead, the plots of the enemies for the kingdom, and the Vandiya God in Sri Lanka, Ponniinselvan’s efforts to save themselves.
But the second half will test the patience a bit. Mani Ratnam tries to create drama between the key characters in the story but it feels laggy and not effective. In the second half, the scene between Vikram and Aishwarya Rai came on the screen wonderfully. Also, the twists related to Nandini’s character work out well.
