Naga Shourya’s latest movie is ‘Rangabali’. The Satya spoof video brought a lot of publicity before its release. New director Pawan Basamshetty’s comedy timing on a TV show caught the attention of the audience. And how was the movie?
Rangabali Movie Story:
Shaurya (Naga Shaurya) is Rajavaram. The father is taking care of the family maintenance and responsibilities with the income from the medical shop. The father’s plan is to hand over the shop to his son, who studied B Pharmacy. But… Shaurya wears a white shirt and takes a step forward. The center is full of cutouts of photos taken with MLA Parasuram (Shine Tom Chacko).
Even the name of the drug is not well known. Shaurya boards the bus to Visakha when his father insists that there is no profit. There he goes for pharmacy training in a medical college where his father’s friend is the dean. He falls in love with Sahaja (Yukti Tareja). Sahaja’s father (Murali Sharma) also initially says okay to their love and marriage.

Knowing that Shaurya is Rajavaram, his father says ‘no’ to Sahaja’s marriage. why How did the Rajavaram Rangabali Center get in the way of Shaurya and Sahaja’s marriage? Have you seen the trailer of ‘Rangabali’? Nagashaurya says a dialogue saying ‘Are you still using these dialogues, Bhai?’ After hearing that… ‘Are you still making such films?’ There were also satires on social media. However, the buzz of the movie is due to Satya’s spoof interview video and director Pawan’s comedy timing in the TV show!
No matter what the story is, the audience comes to the theater to laugh if the comedy is properly worked out. An example is… ‘Samajavaragamana’. This ‘Rangabali’ runs with comedy from start to finish. However, after the break, the comedy subsides after going into the actual story. It ended in a variety of walks until the climax. Not impressive at any stage. Rotta Kottadu routine masala!
Mixing comedy in commercial stories is an art. Some directors know that technique. When I saw the scenes of Shaurya and Satya in ‘Rangabali’, I felt that the new director Pawan Basimshetty has that talent. Even if some double meaning sounds in the dialogues… they are passed with comedy. If the scenes are coming after the interval… did the director who shot the first half also shoot the second half? Or was it directed by someone else? Doubt that.
None of the scenes in the Faktu commercial style are impressive. Twists, flashback episodes, scenes… everything is routine. Sontoor sentiment, emotions between father and son, none of the emotions worked out. At the climax, the name of the center will be changed. That new name, the change was too comedic.
Stories like ‘Rangabali’ need songs for strength. But, should not be a minus. There is no proper placement of the vocals given by Pawan CH. Those songs are soso. The item song is not really good. Even the picturization of that song! Background music is just ok. Diwakar Mani’s camera work brings the commercial mood. There are scenes where the editor has to cut to the chase, some before the interval and many after. If the comedy tempo had continued after the interval, the result would have been a blockbuster. There, many news channels tried to do comedy on the live coverage of Saptagiri. Didn’t work out, didn’t it?
Rangabali
Rangabali Movie Actors Performance:
Nagashaurya has the cut and physique required for a commercial hero. In one scene, he took off his shirt and showed his packed body. Dialogue also says that bodybuilding is not to hide like a girl. The heroism would have been elevated if the story had been accompanied by the right scenes. The scenes were written to elevate the hero.
In the song that comes after the interval, the heroine Yukti Tareja has lost a lot of glamor in a song. Looks and acting are just ok. Satya gets more fame than the hero in this movie. Till the interval, Sathya Comedy is full of laughs. Murali Sharma, Goparaju Ramana, Saptagiri, and other actors are routine characters.
Finally what? : ‘Are you still using these dialogues?’ Before writing the dialogue… ‘Are you still making movies with this kind of stories?’ It would have been good if director Pawan Basamshetty had thought about that. He has good comedy timing. It would be better if it falls into a good story rather than the same old routine. Satya’s comedy hit in ‘Rangabali’, only Satya’s comedy hit! The result of the film is fut!

SPY Movie Analysis:
The audience has seen action thriller movies in Telugu and other languages. From start to ending… at no stage does the viewer in front of the screen feel that ‘Spy’ is an action thriller. The film was made at that level. The scenes look silly. The climax is too bad! Apart from the word of action thriller… ‘Raw’ is nowhere seen as a movie made in the background. That is the specialty of ‘Spy’!
Even in regular and routine action movies, the scenes move a little too fast!? There is no such scene in ‘Spy’. Even the action scenes feel like they are moving forward slowly. Of course… while the action is a bit better! Better to be blind than dead, isn’t it? That’s the saying!
Suspense & sentiment, love & action, and most importantly comedy in the story of ‘Spy’… all in one? Everything is there. Thinking about what is missing? Thrilling story, and exciting scenes! The less said about construction values… the better! It goes without saying that poor visual effects divert the viewer. Either because of those graphics or something else… the camera work is not good. The songs get in the way of the story. Background music doesn’t matter.
Soon after the start of ‘Spy’… we forget that this is a movie set in the background of ‘Raw’ and enjoy the scenes between the hero and the heroine and the song between them. I don’t remember again until the heroine says that she is an NIA agent. The audience will get fuses blown when they hear the harm-trapping dialogue. The less you talk about logic in the story, the better. There are many loopholes. Editing & Direction… Gary BH doesn’t impress in either department.

SPY Movie Actors Performance:
Leaving aside how the story and narratives are… Nikhil has tried his best to do justice to Jai’s character. His acting in some scenes is good. They tried to carry the film on their shoulders. But, Nikhil’s performance needs to improve in front of the weak story and narration.
Heroine Aishwarya Menon’s performance has nothing to say. Looks just ok. Sanya Thakur played the pivotal role of Saraswati. Makarand Desh Pandey appeared in a new look with a clean shave. Sachin Khedekar did nothing as Prime Minister.
Abhinav Gomatham appeared in the role of Kamal, who travels with the hero throughout the film. Regardless of the scene, his comedy timing is laughable at some points. At some point, was that dialogue necessary in that scene? That sounds like comedy to us. Jishshu Sen Gupta, Nitin Mehta, Ravi Varma, and others played regular roles. Even though Rana Daggubati appears in only one scene… he gives a small high with his acting and dialogue delivery. Aryan Rajesh, Tanikella Bharani, Prithvi, and Posani Krishnamurali are limited to two or three scenes.
Finally what? : ‘Spy’ has a huge cast. Famous artists were taken for one or two scenes. But… the film lacks that heaviness. There is no real suspense in the story. Truth aside… the scenes about Subhash Chandra Bose are a bit better. It seems that his name was used to create curiosity about the film. If Bhagavan ji succeeds in patriotism… Nikhil’s ‘spy’ mission fails. This is a disappointingly routine spy thriller.

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s elder son Jayakrishna’s son Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna is coming to the Telugu audience with this film. Recently, there is an interesting update regarding this movie. The recently released title poster of the movie ‘Breath’ has also received tremendous response. In this poster, Chaitanya is seen holding an umbrella in the rain and thinking of something serious. Meanwhile, Kalyan Ram released the title and first look of this movie.
