Monica O My Darling
Monica O My Darling: Rajkumar Rao had bitter experiences this year with the films ‘Badhai Do’ and ‘Hit’. In this background, his latest movie ‘Monica… O My Darling’ was streamed on Netflix on Friday. Let’s find out how this thrilling murder mystery is.
A murder takes place at a unicorn company that manufactures robots. The security chief will be held responsible and fired. No one cares no matter how much the security chief insists that he was not at fault and that someone did the killing with a robot. Six months after this, Jayant (Raj Kumar Rao), a robotics expert working in the same company, gets promoted to director.
CEO Jayant is already in love with Nikki (Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor), the daughter of Satyanarayana Adhikari (Vijay Kenkre). This is not to the liking of the CEO’s son Nishikant (Sikander Kher). Meanwhile… Jayant already has an illicit relationship with Monika (Huma Qureshi), the personal secretary of the CEO of the same company.
Jayant gets shocked when Monica tells him that she is going to become a mother because of him. Monica blackmails her saying that she is an obstacle to her marriage with Nikki and that she will give money whenever she asks. At the same time, it seems to Jayant that Nishikant and Arvind (Bhagavathy Perumal) in the accounts department are also caught in Monica’s trap and are being blackmailed like him.

Together these three make a plan to kill her. But their plan fails. Instead of Monika, Nishikant gets killed. Moreover, the top executives of the company lose their lives one after the other in unfortunate circumstances. Who is behind all these killings? What does this have to do with the first murder by a robot? As humans control robots, humans are being controlled by robots… Who? What is the role of the investigating officer ACP Naidu (Radhika Apte) in this whole affair? That’s the rest of the movie!
Conspiracies in the corporate sector, conspiracies, illegal relationships, shades of gray in every human being… if all these are combined, what dire consequences will take place in ‘Monica O My Darling’. It shows the life of an IIT graduate who comes from a simple village and enters the corporate world with a desire to achieve something.
In this, we can see how hope, greed, greed, and despair affect human life. It is produced by Sanjay Routhrey and Sarita Patil in association with Netflix. Because it is an OTT release, the wording has been used. One or two romantic scenes were put in without the need for illicit relations! If they are resolved, you can enjoy this thriller movie with your family. The story is gripping from the beginning to the end of the movie. But it is disappointing to tell who the real factors are in a very casual manner with ACP Naidu’s character. What happened in the last shot is left to the viewers’ imagination.
Yogesh Chand Kar, one of the writers of ‘Andhadhun’, wrote this story based on a Japanese novel. He Indianized it well. But if you look at it with the eyes of Sriram Raghava ‘Andhadhun’, you won’t like it. His team worked on this movie, so it is common to compare it with Sriram Raghava movies! RD for the old movie ‘Monica O My Darling’.

Burman’s song ‘Piya Tu Ab To Aaja’ was used throughout the film by the director, including the title of the movie! When it comes to actors… Rajkumar Rao once again got a chance to show his strength. But the importance of that character in the first half has decreased even in the second half. And Huma Quresh, who is known to Telugu people with the Tamil dubbing movies ‘Kaala’ and ‘Valimai’, has given an outstanding performance as Monika.
Radhika Apte, who has acted in several Telugu films, acted as the investigative officer ACP Naidu. She looked a bit new in the role of a police officer who chews chewing gum and does comedy. Other lead roles were played by Vijay Kenkre, Sikander Kher, Sukanth Goyal, Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor, Bhagwati Perumal, and others. Those who have high expectations after seeing the trailer of this movie directed by Vasan Bala will be disappointed. But those who like murder mysteries and thriller movies have a chance to like ‘Monica… Oh, My Darling’.
