It’s been news that has been around for years, but now it looks like something is finally stirring up at the Warner Bros offices. The company is reportedly considering the potential return of star Henry Cavill as Superman for a new foray into the DC Extended Universe!

In a conversation on Twitter Spaces between reporters Erik Davis of Fandango and Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap, the coveted update on the future of Henry Cavill’s Superman (recently busy with Netflix filming the Witcher season 3) was given. “The Multiverse has to stay, if they want to keep [Supergirl actress] Sasha Calle and bring a new Superman to life or bring Cavill back to life or something, this has to be a reality,” Gonzalez said.

Davis responded by saying he heard Cavill was asked to return to the role, but he refused. Gonzalez, however, said that Warner Bros. Discovery adores the actor as Superman and is not very willing to let him go. Words that are striking, given that Cavill has always said he is more than willing to return in the role of the iconic hero of the DC house. Just last December he revealed that he is still waiting for the “fateful call” from Warner Bros.

Is Henry Cavill’s Superman Really Coming Back?

“This will probably turn into a story, I’m not sure, but I’m pretty sure maybe they’ll try to bring it back…” the reporter from The Wrap said. “I could be wrong, I just don’t think they’ve had a chance to get him back yet. But again, it’s all in the hands of whoever is overseeing the DC universe, and this committee reports to David Zaslav [CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery]. It’s been almost ten years since we saw him in Man of Steel, but personally, I don’t think it’s over yet ”.
