Doctor Who is one of the most loved and long-lived TV series ever: recently, in fact, the name of the new actor who will play the Doctor was announced! BCC has brought Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa into the cast of the next season of Doctor Who. One of the longest-running shows in television history has found in the choice of its ever-changing cast members the trick for constant renewal and carrying on one of the most successful sci-fi films on the small screen.

This implies that the show never necessarily has to end because a star just gets tired of playing the lead role to have a new casting for the next season. The Doctor, in Doctor Who, simply regenerates in a new form. The series relaunches itself, with a new protagonist.

The series that never gets old, therefore, has decided to “fish out” in its stellar cast to bring back to the public two of its most successful and loved characters in Doctor Who history. David Tennant and Catherine Tate will return to Doctor Who to celebrate the series’ 60th anniversary. David Tennant will return as the Tenth Doctor in the next special that airs this fall. Along with Tennant, his companion Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate, will also return. The announcement took place via the official social profile of the TV series!

The return of its Doctor Who stars also coincides with the return of showrunner Russell T. Davies. The three had already worked together from 2005 to 2010. The details regarding the story in which the protagonists will be involved are still unknown, but Davies has released a somewhat cryptic statement to Comicbook about it: “Maybe it will be a story never told. Or a parallel world. Or a dream, a deception, or a flashback. The only thing I can confirm is that their return will be spectacular. Two of our biggest stars will return for the battle of a lifetime ”.
