Top Gun: Maverick could finally hit the movie screens after a long and troubled wait. The film, in fact, should have been released in 2019, only to be postponed to 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and received two more delays in the release date.
At the moment, however, it appears that Tom Cruise as “Maverick” will return to theaters on May 27, 2022. Top Gun: Maverick, in addition to the return of Tom Cruise, also stars Miles Teller in the role of Bradley Bradshaw, son of the Maverick’s deceased friend, aka Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”.
A new promo of the new Top Gun has made fans happy after a long wait: the new images have been released as an opening and introduction to an AFC Championship match. The video, which features both a speech from Tom Cruise and new images from the film, became popular on the web in no time.
Cruise, introducing the game, compares the efforts required to be a football player to those required to be a top gun, while images from the film accompany the speech in the background. The icing on the cake, however, is clearly the return of the film’s great soundtrack, rearranged as the backdrop for this particularly functional and touching ensemble.

Top Gun: Maverick takes up those themes that made the first 1986 film, directed by legendary director Tony Scott, a real cult for the next twenty years.
